The iconic film premiered no less than 23 years ago but people still ask actress Alicia Silverstone about it today! It is safe to say the movie has become part of our culture, fashion, and even language – a true cult classic!
While at the premiere of her latest movie titled Book Club this weekend, Alicia said: ‘People still love Clueless … and I hear about it all the time, and I am happy to hear about it. It is such – Amy Heckerling is brilliant, I love that little, young kids are learning about it from their parents, my generation who is showing it to them.’
‘And then there are older people who are watching it because they saw it with their children … it covers every single generation and I feel like, that’s a lovely thing,’ she went on.
As for her brand new project, Book Club, Silverstone plays an older woman’s daughter, who, after reading Fifty Shades of Grey for the first time, decides to pursue life and pleasure…in a different way.
‘We’re slightly terrible children in this movie. And yeah, that is the fun of it, is that we’re just ridiculous,’ Silverstone shared about the film.
Apparently, the actress did not hesitate to take on the role after learning she would be working with Diane Keaton, who plays the mother character.
’That is why I came to the party. Diane Keaton’s just the best – I wanted to act with her. I got to spend 7 days with her. She is amazing and she is hilarious.
Right before we’d do a take, she’d usually say something horrible and funny to me and I would be laughing so hard I could not hear, ‘Action!’’ she gushed over the fellow actress.
