David Spade Says He Still Talks To Heather Locklear Sometimes Despite Her Recent Troubles

Heather Locklear still talks to David Spade. When David spent an afternoon with Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM radio show today, Spade said that he has talked with Heather recently and has always stayed in touch. As you may know, David and Heather, for a short while, dated in 2006.

Fans of Locklear know that the former model and actress has gotten herself into considerable trouble over the past few months, including one incident where she struck a police officer, and also went to the hospital due to a possible drug overdose.

During his chat with Andy, David said, “…and I will always be indebted to her because she was so nice, so fun.” According to the 53-year-old actor, he “grew up” loving her.

Spade said he and Heather had met on the set of Saturday Night Live one time, where he was working as a writer. He wasn’t getting any sketches, but he worked backstage.

He said that Heather told him she remembered him, which came as a bit of a surprise. Because of her stunning personality, David always checked in on her to make sure she was doing well. Spade described her as always so cheerful and fun.

David said, “…and I still do.” David recently dealt with a loss of his own when the wife of his brother died. Kate Spade, the creator Kate Spade New York, died due to suicide on the 5th of June at the age of 55.

The Grown Up’s alum said Heather spoke to him and made sure he was doing alright after she had passed away. According to Spade, “everyone’s literally one inch away from having some trouble, sometimes,” so he doesn’t judge her.

Just last month, People Magazine confirmed that Locklear entered a treatment facility for mental health issues and drug abuse.
