Will.i.am and Chris Brown joined the plethora of people trash talking Kanye West for his widely disparaged comments during an interview with TMZ earlier in the week.
As it was previously reported, Kanye sat down with reporters and dished on his controversial tweet where he supported the president, Donald Trump.
During the conversation, slavery came up and Kanye West criticized the notion, insinuating that slavery was abolished a long time ago, and nowadays, the bigger threat to humanity is an “unfree” mentality, one where people are held back by limiting beliefs and counterproductive philosophy, as well as the need to fit in to society’s mold.
The rapper said, “400 years of slavery? That sounds like a choice,” and the media fallout was swift, with the vast majority of commentators and musical artists missing the point of what he was saying.
Either way, misunderstood or not, Ye’s cohorts including Will.I.Am and Chris Brown criticized the rapper’s choice of words. During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, the Black Eyed Peas alum said his ancestors were slaves so he found the comments deeply upsetting.
Chris Brown uploaded the singer’s Good Morning Britain interview on Instagram and voiced his support for him in the caption beneath the video clip. Brown stated that will.i.am did a good job of articulating his points.
Because of the supposed immorality of Kanye’s actions, the Black Eyed Peas alum advised Kanye to give away his albums for free as well as shoes because he’s clearly profiting from a “very touchy race situation.”
As you may know, Kanye reactivated his Twitter account and began tweeting consistently every day. The rapper has spoken on philosophical issues as well as politics, Candace Owens, the concept of time, and the issue of “free thought.”
