Pete Davidson Says That He Was High When He Proposed To Ariana Grande

Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande’s shocking engagement went viral for many reasons. Now the “SNL” star is opening up about how it went down.

A social media user claims that she saw the comedian doing a stand-up show where he said that he was high when he proposed to his now-fiance. She explained that Davidson was smoking in bed when he pulled out the ring and asked Ariana to be his wife.

You’d think with a $100,000 ring, the proposal would have been as glamorous but it clearly was not.

Pete has been open about his struggle with sobriety in the past and uses marijuana for medicinal purposes. In addition to Borderline Personality Disorder, Davidson suffers from Crohn’s disease.

During a podcast on ‘WTF with Marc Maron,’ the 24-year-old explained how he got his BPD diagnosis and its relation to marijuana.

“I’ve been a pothead forever. Around October [or] September last year, I started having mental breakdowns where I would, like, freak out and then not remember what happened after. Blind rage. I never really did any other drugs, so I was like, ‘I’m gonna try to go to rehab. Maybe that’ll be helpful.”

The doctors at the rehab determined that weed had nothing to do with his change in behavior.
“They told me there, they’re like, ‘You might be bipolar,’ and I was like, ‘OK.’ So they’re like, ‘We’re gonna try you on these meds.’ And then I got out [of rehab], and then I started smoking weed again—and I’m on meds.”

This comes after Pete asked the pop star to marry him after a few weeks of dating. Both Ari and the actor have had to defend the decision on social media. So much so, that Ariana has decided to take a break from Instagram and Twitter after being bombarded with negativity.
