Former ‘Counting On’ Star Jill Duggar’s Husband Derick Dillard Is At It Again, This Time He Bashes Nate Berkus As A ‘Travesty’

Former Counting On star Derick Dillard, Jill Duggar’s controversial husband, continues to spew his hate on social media, and his newest target is Nate Berkus. The designer and his husband, Jeremiah Brent, have their own show on TLC called Nate & Jeremiah: By Design, and Dillard has no tolerance for their “liberal” lifestyle.

“What a travesty of family. It’s sad how blatant the liberal agenda is, such that it both highlights and celebrates a lifestyle so degrading to children on public television as if it should be normal,” tweeted Dillard, with a link to a TLC network tweet promoting Berkus and Brent’s show.

As Counting On fans know, this isn’t the first time Dillard has trash talked the network and people who have lifestyles he disagrees with. Last fall he went after the show I Am Jazz and its star, transgender teen Jazz Jennings, and it resulted in TLC firing him.

Dillard has continued to cause controversy by attacking Jennings again – referring to her as “him” – and also going after TLC by claiming they didn’t pay him for his time on Counting On and complaining that the network didn’t pay his son Samuel’s hospital bills after profiting on his birth. He also tweeted that TLC didn’t fire him, but the network issued a statement making it clear that they had cut ties with 28-year-old.

Dillard’s followers immediately came to the defense of Berkus and Brent, just like they did for Jennings, and slammed him for his homophobic tweets. One pointed out that the lifestyle of the By Design stars doesn’t affect Dillard, while another wrote that he doesn’t have the right to tell people how to live.

Even Dillard’s fellow Christians went after him, with one writing that they couldn’t sit back and watch Dillard’s judgemental ways. They continued by saying that they serve a loving, forgiving God who has instructed people not to judge, and Dillard will never win people over by spreading hate. They concluded by making the point that bashing who you think are sinners will get you nowhere when it comes to reaching people.

But, the more people attacked him, the more Dillard kept going. He replied that he isn’t bashing people, but instead he is calling out the public agenda at play, and how a TV network chooses what they highlight. He then wrote that Christians should love everyone as Christ did, but you should take advantage of capitalism and boycott what you don’t believe in.
