Sandra Bullock Open Up About Motherhood And Her Beau Bryan Randall

Despite being one of the most beloved actresses in recent years and America’s Sweetheart to so many, Sandra Bullock has been focusing on another role, her most important yet. Bullock is a mom to Louis Bullock, 8, and Laila Bullock, 5. She’s put acting on hold for the past few years to focus on raising her kids and the new film Ocean’s Eight is her reintroduction into the spotlight.

Bullock recently opened up to Instyle Magazine about this decision and how home life is raising two busy kids with her boyfriend Bryan Randall. Despite not speaking very openly about their relationship, Bullock did reveal that her kids sort of prefer her beau to her.

Bullock admits that he’s “super kind” and has “better treats” than she does. As is always the case in parenting. One parent is typically the disciplinarian and more strict, while the other may be more fun and light-hearted.

When describing the personalities of her two children, whom she adopted, she speaks lovingly and honestly about them. She calls her eldest child, Lou, super sensitive. Bullock says that he has an old soul and a “spiritual bigness” that was evident when she held him for the first time.

When speaking about her daughter Laila, she calls her a “fighter” and someone who is going to grow up and enact some “real change.”

And you’re paralyzed to a degree, thinking, ‘Will anyone believe me?’ And at that time? No,” she confesses honestly. “Up until recently it was the victim who was shamed, not the perpetrator. Bullock also feels very strongly about the language that is used to speak about her children. She doesn’t think the term ‘adopted’ needs to be used. The phrase “my adopted child”

shouldn’t be commonplace because people don’t use terms like “IVF child” or “I went to a bar and got knocked-up child.”

She believes that children are children and no matter how you come into being a parent, they’re yours regardless. No need for the qualifying statements.

Bullock is also a vocal and financial backer of Time’s Up, which helps to give victims of sexual harassment and assault the monetary tools to seek justice.

The raven-haired beauty knows how ubiquitous these incidents are. For her, she was a victim of such heinous acts at 16. She was not believed, which is so often the case. The Oscar-winning actress thinks that its high time that disbelief be changed.
