On Thursday (May 3), Kendall Jenner posted a glamorous photo of herself on Instagram. In the pic, she lounges on a patio chair on a New York City rooftop, curlers in her hair and generally looking like she's living her best life.
But if you look closely in the background of the shot, there is a large sky-blue advertisement on the building behind her that appears to have been blurred out so you can't read what's on it. As any good fan of country star Kacey Musgraves knows, the blurry ad is for Kacey's recently released album, Golden Hour. This fact did not go unmissed by Kacey herself.
Kacey, who is known for jokes (she previously made a self-deprecating comment about touring with Harry Styles), couldn't resist the opportunity to make a bit of fun out of Kendall's photo. Kacey first reposted Kendall's original Instagram on her own Instagram Stories, then she posted a slightly edited version of the pic, this time with Kendall's face blurred out. Kacey has since taken the image down from her Instagram Story.
It makes sense why Kendall blurred out the album cover — she literally gets paid for advertisements, so the photo may have been edited to avoid possible connection by fans. But fan reactions on social media were mixed, with some taking the slight very seriously, while others congratulating Kacey on a joke well done.
Luckily, there is no real drama here: Kacey was just having a little lighthearted fun with Kendall, who has also already responded to the fans pointing out the blur-war. And it turns out she is actually a big fan of the country singer. She wrote on Twitter, "Kacey is literally my f*ckin fav! Space cowboy, I Miss You, Keep it to yourself, FOLLOW YOUR ARROW!! bangers!! ask anyone of my homies i die for her! 🌹❤️."
