Fox Network Officially Cancels Brooklyn Nine Nine

Unfortunately for Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans, the show is officially coming to an end. The Fox network announced they were saying their goodbyes to the series after just five seasons.

B-99 starring Andy Samberg, Terry Crews, Chelsea Peretti, and Stephanie Beatriz, among others, reached its 100th episode back in December, but its final episode will be on the 20th of May.

After the news hit the mainstream media on Thursday afternoon, many of the production’s fans took to Twitter and begged streaming platforms like Netflix and Hulu to pick it back up.

Dan Goor, the creator of the immensely popular situational-comedy, took to Twitter to thank all of the support he and the rest of the team had received.

Goor wrote, “it means the world to me and everyone else who works on the show.” Beatriz wrote on Twitter, “Squad, we love you.” She added that the series had been a “gift” to her career.

Some of the other stars of the show took to Twitter as well, including Terry Crews, who recently went through a sexual misconduct battle with the agent, Adam Vinet. As it was previously reported, Adam supposedly grabbed Terry at a party in Hollywood one night.

Sources close to the network explained, “It was a really good run but it had to end for a number of different reasons. Everyone is getting sick of it, and it just seemed like it was time for it to stop.”

Another insider shared, “it’s hard to make a show like that last for forever, because writers come and go, and eventually, they just run out of ideas. There are only so many things that you can do with a comedy series like Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
