Jeffrey Tambor recently lost his job on the set of Amazon’s “Transparent,” a show which garnered Tambor an Emmy Award. As you may know, the actor had to leave the show due to allegations of sexual misconduct.
However, many of his castmates from the past, like those from Arrested Development, claimed they stood behind him no matter what. It appears as those same people – who are working on the fifth season of Netflix’s revival of the cult-TV classic – are welcoming Tambor back into their embrace with open arms.
In case you missed it, Tambor was fired from “Transparent” due to claims from a woman that he had pressed his penis up against her.
Van Barnes, who used to work as his assistant, was the first woman to accuse him of “inappropriate behavior,” than his co-star, Trace Lysette, was the second; she accused him of “unwanted sexual advances.”
According to Lysette, Jeffrey pushed her up against the wall, placed his feet on hers so she couldn’t move, then thrust himself up against her several times.
In discussion with The Hollywood Reporter, Lysette stated she had merely laughed off Jeffrey’s actions toward her because she had a job to do, and couldn’t let the “lead” get in the way.
In response to the allegations, Tambor said he was deeply disappointed that a “highly toxic politicized atmosphere” contributed to the demise of such a great television show.
Tambor is just one of many men to face charges of sexual impropriety, with Harvey Weinstein being the first – and possibly one of the worst. The initial claims against the former disgraced producer set of the cascade of allegations against men in the entertainment industry, which have spread across the world in almost every industry.
