For the first time since the accusations hit the mainstream media, Allison Mack and Keith Raniere appeared in court together on the 4th of May. The pair was in Brooklyn, New York for a status hearing related to the accusations of grooming women for sex trafficking within the organization, NXIVM.
The 35-year-old small screen star sat at the back of the courtroom, as she’s currently out on bail. According to spectators, “Allison was sitting in the back patiently listening and she didn’t appear to be very upset.”
“In fact, she seemed kind of nonchalant, as if she’s convinced that she did nothing wrong.” As it was previously reported, Allison was accused of being involved with what’s been called a “sex cult,” not unlike the allegations against R & B singer, R. Kelly.
Mack even laughed a few times while chatting with her lawyer. Celebrity Insider reported on the 20th of April that one of her former co-workers stated that Allison sent her a “desperate” sounding email, although she brushed it off as merely being socially awkward and a bit strange, albeit, harmless.
Regarding the response of Raniere’s attorney, supposedly, they’re claiming that everyone involved was participating without being forced.
Additionally, prosecutors say they came upon a “large amount of discovery in this case.” They found “years worth” of evidence of “victim material” and other documents.
Federal attorneys are waiting on the arrival of more witnesses, as there are many more to come forward and make an appearance during the trial.
Furthermore, another insider stated that, despite the deleterious allegations against Allison, she appeared to be “very calm” and “collected” during the trial. Perhaps, Allison gave information on Raniere for the guarantee of her freedom?
